 Gary then successfully retreived Karyn's garter, in preparation for a throw to the single men at the reception. Keep in mind that the man who catches the garter gets to put the garter on the leg of the woman who caught the bouquet.

 Kevin, Gary's best man, evidently found this prospect particularly appealing. Notice his keen eye focused on the descending garter as he elbows David out of the way.
