Music Comments: High F# needs to be easy but is not held. Andantino, piano part "with crystalline transparency, dolce." Song does not look technically difficult, but a nice melody with a well-composed feeling

Text Comments: Full text: Will there really be a morning? Is there such a thing as day? Could I see it from the mountains If I were as tall as they? Has it feet like water lillies? Has it feathers like a bird? Is it brought from famous countries Of which I have never heard? Oh, some scholar! Oh, some sailor! Oh, some wise man from the skies! Please to tell a little pilgrim Where the place called morning lies?

Music Comments: Marked "Fast and fleeting", it is indeed very fast and quite tricky rhythmically. Frequent meter changes among unusual meters such as 11/16 and 13/16. Extended piano introduction. Held pianissimo Eb5 closes song.

Text Comments: It doesn't matter, I've now come to see, that everyone has someone, everyone but me. Love doesn't matter, despite what they say. I'm thankful I'm solo. It's better that way. It doesn't matter, I no longer care. Life makes no guarantees. It isn't always fair. It's overrated, that romantic stuff. I've patiently waited long enough. How many people will settle for someone who isn't quite right, and make all sorts of adjustments just to have someone beside them each night? Look at the miserable couples you can count on your fingers and toes. Why people put up with all of that nonsense, well, God only knows. It doesn't matter. I'm simply too old to have to have someone to kiss or to hold. I've really grown out of needing these things, and now when I see two lovers touch, I'm thankful I don't have the pain to contend with because any more, it really doesn't matter very much.

Music Comments: "Simply, with humor". About :15. A short, fun, quirky song in b minor.
