In his works for solo voice, he usually turns away from the typical piano-vocal art song ensemble in favor of more unusual combinations. Jason is particularly interested in rhythm, and percussion plays an essential part in many of his works. His works are often aurally advanced, deep and somewhat challenging for inexperienced ears but not without an immediately appreciable external layer of beauty. His connection to the texts he sets is very strong. Jason's intellect and literary knowledge is imposing, his musicality great, and his compositions sophisticated and heartfelt. I want to convince this organ and piano player to write more works for piano and voice alone, because I love the sound of that combination and because that ensemble is the easiest to find.
