Got home about midnight. Everything went well, including Karyn's audition--but I
got a head cold. It doesn't really affect my voice, but I'm blowing my nose about
once every fifteen minutes! Anyway, I thought I'd upload this really quick before
bed and check email. So, hi!

OK, time for a new news page. Here's a link to the most
recent news archive. I'm in Chicago right now without any easy access to a phone so
this may not go up till we're back on Wednesday. I've fixed some bugs in the system
here, added Argento's From the Diary of Virginia Woolf to the catalog (yes, not as needful of promotion as some of the other
cycles, but it is just such a great cycle!), auditioned for Glimmerglass (it went well),
caught a sore throat, and had a great time with Karyn in Chicago. The Chicago
aquarium and oceanarium is awesome! I also have added a recordings
section in the bibliography, and have linked a few
song cycles to the recordings. These recordings are then usually linked to
Amazon.com, where for some recordings you can listen on-line to clips from the cd.
Pretty neat.
So, a lot of behind the scenes work to report now, but perhaps you can see the changes
as you explore.

I've added one new Ernst Bacon anthology of 16 Emily Dickinson settings and two new Lee
Hoiby song cycles to the song catalog. My annotations
are significantly less than brilliant but hopefully they get the job done. All three
of these anthologies are distributed through Classical
Vocal Reprints. These additions bring the catalog up to 101 songs, and the Singers' Bibliography to 598 books. I want to get the
catalog up to abbout 200 songs before I make another big ruckus of trying to attract new
site visitors. Hopefully songs from Christopher Berg, Richard Pearson Thomas, Jake
Heggie, John Greer, Benton Hess et al will bring the catalog to that number and beyond.

The Singers' Bibliography is now fully linked (or as
fully as possible) to Amazon.com. The bibliography update has taken a lot of time; I
will get back to adding song catalog entries slowly as I work on upcoming auditions and
performances. Please contribute, suggest improvements, or say hello!
By the way, I think I didn't announce that Classical
Vocal Reprints has their full catalog up for perusal and purchase. Check them
out!
